DOOR KNOCKERS

Our door knockers are suitable for all wooden doors as well as on uPVC or composite doors, however we do recommend that you check with the manufacturer of the door if you are uncertain.

For a clean front finish and extra security, our door knockers are attached through your door and secured on the inside with decorative bolt caps (we don’t want anyone to be able to unscrew them from the outside). Every door knocker is supplied with the components to fit to a standard thickness door and a drilling template to take the guess work out of where to make your holes!

AFTER CARE

We use brass for our knockers due to the enduring beauty of the metal, excellent durability and ability to withstand exposure to weather. Our solid brass hardware comes in a range of finishes as well as Nickel plated options, so please see below for specific after care information for your piece.

UNLACQUERED BRASS

Unlacquered brass is natural brass that will develop a beautiful unique patina with age and exposure to the elements and touch.  The more salt and pollution and handling, the faster your brass will age. There is very little aftercare required but to sit back and enjoy it but if you wish to, you can restore your original colour with a suitable brass polish, applied with a soft cloth. Avoid using any abrasive cloths or pads that can scratch the surface.

POLISHED BRASS

A polished brass finish will keep its beautiful while welcoming your guests for many years to come but as brass is a natural untreated material, it will darken slightly over time. This will give great character and authenticity to your piece. However, if you wish to retain a bright polished effect, you can clean regularly with a suitable brass polish and soft cloth.  Avoid using any abrasive cloths or pads that can scratch the surface.

NICKEL PLATED BRUSHED

Brushed Nickel has a warm and tactile aesthetic. Our hardware is always solid brass and exceptionally durable. You can maintain your nickel finish by occasionally wiping with a damp soft cloth and mild soapy water. Over time and exposure to the elements, the metal will age uniquely but you can restore with a suitable nickel cleaner if you wish. Avoid using any abrasive cloths, pads or cleaners that can scratch the surface.

NICKEL PLATED POLISHED

Our polished nickel hardware is solid brass with a heavy layer of Nickel plating and requires minimal aftercare. You can maintain your bright nickel finish by occasionally wiping with a damp soft cloth and mild soapy water. Over time and exposure to the elements, the metal will age uniquely but you can restore with a suitable nickel cleaner if you wish. Avoid using any abrasive cloths, pads or cleaners that can scratch the surface.
